The Marguerite Rogers House Museum, built by John G. Slover in the early 1900's, is located at 113 East Dumble in Alvin, Texas. In 1938 James A. and Marguerite Rogers bought the house. The Rogers' daughter, Emaline, bequeathed the property to the Alvin Museum Society in 1995. The Society restored the home and named it Marguerite Rogers House Museum, in honor of Emaline's mother.

About Us
The Marguerite Rogers House Museum is owned and operated by the Alvin Museum Society. Tours of The Cottage and Grounds are conducted by Docents by reservation only. Please call 281-331-4469 for information.

The Cottage House Museum is located at 113 East Dumble, Alvin, Texas. Admission is $3.00; for children under 12 the tour is free. Proceeds are used for maintaining The Cottage.

6th Annual Alvin Area Garden Tour


Mark your calendars! You don't want to miss the 6th Annual Alvin Area Garden Tour scheduled for Saturday, April 16, 2005, from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Three area private, home gardens are on the tour. Plant sale and venders of patio/garden art, decorations and furniture will be on the grounds of the Marguerite Rogers House Museum. The tour is jointly sponsored by the Alvin Museum Society and Alvin Garden Club. Proceeds will fund maintenance of the Marguerite Rogers House Museum. Ticket price is $5.00. There is an additional $3.00 admission charge if visitors wish to tour the inside of the Cottage House Museum.

The Cottage will feature a mini-exhibit of vintage aprons, cup towels, and pot holders beginning April 16 through May 27 on Thursdays, Fridays and the first Saturday of the month. For more details or special appointments call 281-585-2803.
